New Month, New Material: September 2011

*peeks between fingers*
Hello lovely blog visitors!!!
Rita's baaaaaaaaccckkk!
As you all know, I use this monthly (at least, what is suppose to monthly) check-in post to let you guys know what's coming up for the new month blog-wise and otherwise.
Well, I'l let you guys know right now that September will be a VERY tame month. Not that I got that much done during the summer as I would have liked, but your resident historical romance junkie has to hang up the coconut bra and fruity cocktails and exchange them for university pull over sweaters and 5-hour energy drinks. I am back in school  now, my summer has officially ended, and idk WHERE I am going to find the energy to even tackle half of the cool projects I wanted to start for the blog. I've got TONS of books with half finished reviews I should probably jump on before my course work begins in earnest, and review books I've got to read on top of all that I need to get to asap! I keep hinting at a huge review-mageden... and the longer I put it off, the bigger it'll be. I am literally looking at a full solid month of daily reviews.
Because of those reviewing commitments, I am holding off on scheduling any further author appearances/interviews for a while. I have a few I've had planned from a few month ago, but other than that- do not expect too many interviews until after thanksgiving. I'll try to put together another Christmas Blog Party-but again, it depends on my schedule. Pimpin' (books) ain't easy! Especially with a part-time job, full time school, and a love of sleeping.
I'll brainstorm some ways to compensate for the huge hold I've put on the blog. Maybe monthly kindle ebook giveaways? I'd say paperback giveaways, but if I can't track down my own head 90% of the time, I doubt I'll find time to get to a P.O. and ship! Thank Austen for fast, convenient, Amazon gifting! lol! But I'll consider throwing in some after a while. Perhaps I'll do a giveaway of 1 book from the author of the month's back list?
I'll get it all together soon. I have no choice! lol!

The month may change but the mission stays the same: To make your followership of Not Another Romance Blog worthwhile!

Here's some of what to expect this month:

-....Reviews?
-Featured September Book
-A giveaway of the Author of the Month's book
-My participation in more Meme's like Top Off Tuesday
-Another rousing episode of Romance Lately with authors Shana Galen and Ashley March!
-Visitor's Survey! Time to sound off and help make N.A.R.B better!

...And so much more...(hopefully)

I'll grin and bear this month of crazy re-adjusting! Damn school. But Yay for the kick in the pants to get myself organized (or at least, my greatest interpretation of it). It can only get better from here.

New Month, New Material: June 2011

It's June!
Mega-Squee is in effect!!!
SO besides this month being MY birthday month, there's so much awesomeness going on in the romance reading world, I can hardly contain myself. RWA 11' is going down later this month, and even though it costs a leg and an arm to attend, the Literary Signing (big author signing event) is free and open to the public--it also takes place on my birthday! Which ALSO happens to be the day tons of great releases are scheduled to come out (see this month's list of Anticipated Releases). It'll be AMAZING!
....*bashful face*As you can tell, I haven't exactly gotten the whole 'getting back on track' thing down to a science. This should be the last time any of my staple posts (the new month update posts) should be late. Lots of reviews in the works and the requests just keep on coming. I'll be a very busy girl this summer but it's all worth it.

New Month, New Material: May 2011

Okay, so I know you guys are looking at me like "yeah, right" when I say:
"Just bare with me a little longer. Finals are almost over!"
But I am serious this time =) lol
Friday is my first exam and then it's going to be a all weekend study-fest since my last 3 finals are on that Monday and Tuesday. Then Wednesday I am taking a personal day (*g*) and watching some period romance on DVD. THEN on Thursday I'll be in full blog swing mode with a special guest post by Jenn Leblanc!! There will be hot men involved.. (yeah, you can thank me later)

New Month, New Material: April 2011

*singing* "GOOD MORNING
BLOG-TIMORE!
EVERY DAY'S LIKE AN OPEN DOOR!!"
*hush, Nicky Blonsky! I've got to give the people an update!*
As you can tell by Nicky's over-zealousness, the month of April will be a VERY jubilous one for the blog! As most of you should know- seeing as I harped on and on about it- April 14th will mark my blog's 1 year anniversary! Who would have thunk? I am very excited to celebrate this special event with you all! I am a very sentimental type of girl, so expect a blast from the past of memorable times this crazy year has provided the blog with.

New Month, New Material: March 2011

Not Much to report.
Got a few reviews out, hosted some giveaways, yada yada.
This month I hope to get back on track and bombard you guys with delicious book stuffs!
Got a few interviews lined up, plenty of reviews on their way, and finally going to get around to updating the Author of the Month (Voted by you guys) and Recommendation for the week!
Of course, I'll be spending most of my free time scooping out Ashley March's March Madness and figureing out how I want to celebrate my Blogoversary!  It'll b something small, but I've got new copies of some classic romances, a few gently used reads I am sure can find a good home, and some awesome people I want to thank for suporting and encouraging me to keep at this crazy thing! More on that in April, but for now, Just stay tuned for the usual book-ish goodness I (attempt) to bring you per usual!

The month may change but the mission stays the same: To make your followership of Not Another Romance Blog worthwhile!

Long Story, Short:
Expect the usual but more frequently (hopefully) Lol! Reviews, Interviews, and a few Random Posts to put a smile on your face! (Don't worry. The summer is coming, and that means pure bloggy goodness! Site redesign, reading challenges, the works!)

New Month, New Material: February 2011

Okay, SO I am two days late with this...
It's still Feb, so no worries. Last month was a great intro to 2011. Although I didn't get out as many reviews as I wanted to, and totally forgot about Recommendations for the Week, I still think it was pretty successful!

New Month (New Year), New Material: January 2011

Oh Gee's,
Let me join in the chorus: Happy New Year everybody. I hope your 2011 surpasses your 2010 in all thing!
Now that that's out of the way, It's time to acknowledge the amazing year I've had! Ask me 9 months ago what I thought 'Not Another Romance Blog' would amount to, and I probably would have rolled my eyes and said something smarmy. I never expected to meet so many amazing readers, writers, and other bloggers, I never thought I would have obtain the 411 on so many amazing books I would have otherwise missed, I never thought I would actually reach a substantial amount of followers. But you guys proved me wrong. I started this blog and it's just become way more than I thought possible. It's my outlet, the place I go when I have to get my feelings out about a specific novel, the place I came to announce to the world I am just as crazy as everybody else ;). I am just really happy I've been able to connect with a few of you, get the opportunity to read awesome books, and haven't been given some letter of cease and desist.

New Month, New Material: December 2010

Happy December~*~Happy Holidays!!
Oh, gee! December's here! It's almost Christmas time. And then New Years Eve (a.k.a The night I shall have trouble remembering)
This will be a BIG month for the blog! Our first Christmas, YAY! A change in the calendar page. Another super cool event! What can I say!?
For this month, I want to do something a bit different. I'll still get out some reviews, but I want to concentrate on special interest posts. I've got some cool tips to add that special touch to your holiday festivities.(And let's not mention the army of authors and giveaways that you'll see popping up each day!)

New Month, New Material: November 2010

Happy November Bookies!

It’s that special time of year where we recover from the sugar overload of Halloween and prepare to be overrun by distant relative and plagued by dinner fiascos. But don’t worry; I’ll be right here to help you get through the November month. More than anything, I want to use this month as preparation for the HUGE Christmas Party I am planning in December. I won’t unveil all of my plans, but prepare for LOTS of x-mas bliss for the entire month of December.
Getting back to the month at hand, I will keep doing as I’ve been doing only more. I want to get some more reviews out, find some cool romantical content to regale you guys with, bring in some great authors with upcoming releases to share a little something-something, and pretty much what I’ve been doing up to now.
I also want to thank the new followers of the blog, Facebook Fan Page, and twitter account (and everywhere else I have an account on). And of course, the continued patronage of those 'old school followers' who have been with me through it all. My thanks will always lie with you!

The month may change, but the mission stays the same: To make your followership of Not Another Romance Blog worthwhile!

Here's some of what to expect this month:
- MORE REVIEWS- I’ve been a bit light on reviews (have read tons of books but haven’t gotten my thoughts down!)
-More Coffee Shop Conversations & Book Giveaways (a duh!)
-Add a new man-candy slave to Rita's Harem ;)
-More 5 memorable quotes
-I’ve been procrastinating on that update on my TV-Top Bookshelf- but I’ll get to it!
-Feature some more book trailers
-Spice up the blog with more news from the literary world
...And so much more...

I look forward to the month of November and the sea of great books I'll get to gush with you guys about!

New Month, New Material: October 2010

October is always a sluggish and rueful time in the year. The weather goes from mood-swingy, to full-blown Mid-life crisis. And obviously, Halloween just HAS to come along and take everyone by storm. I am not an All-Hallows-Eve type of girl, but I enjoy a good scare, so maybe all is not lost.
So, let's touch base on what I've accomplished this last month... NOTHING! LOL. I've got so many plans I'd like to get started on, but like I said, October isn't my shining month, and September is just a sorry shake of the head. But don't fear. I've been brainstorming and working my butt off to give you guys some more fun stuff to keep you coming back. You'll see soon ;)
That being said, I also want to thank the new followers of the blog, facebook page, and twitter account (and everywhere else I have an account on). And of course, the continued patronage of those 'old school followers' who have been with me through it all. My thanks will always lie with you!
The month may change, but the mission stays the same: To make your followership of Not Another Romance Blog worthwhile!

Here's some of what to expect this month:
-Did you hear me last month when I said: MORE REVIEWS
-More Coffee Shop Conversations & Book Giveaways (a duh!)
-A few addition to Rita's Harem ;)
-More 5 memorable quotes (plus special poet/famous writer editions)
-My TV-Top Bookshelf's replacement!
-Cool book trailers I've found

...And so much more...

-Yea, most of the stuff on here was said last month, but really, I've been so remiss I haven't gotten around to anything! AHH! But I'll keep pushing and I'll need you guys with me! It's because we love books, period!

New Month, New Material: September 2010

It's September and it's time to get a little sexy. The weather hasn't begun it's inevitable changing, but it looms on the horizon. Same thing goes for the blog. It's a never-ending metamorphosis when you want to actively keep up and improve yourself in the blogging world. I've learned a lot so far, many of those lessons the hard way, but I have also felt the fruits of that labor. Activity and traffic on the blog has been its highest in August than it has ever been! I am truly honored by everyone's support and blessed beyond measure to count you guys as my followers!
It has been a crazy couple of weeks! I have been SWAMPED with this or that and admit to neglecting the blog a bit. I didn't get half of the reviews done that I wanted to, but at least I was able to give you guys a few great interviews and giveaways, right? I'll be finishing up the projects and things that I committed to before this point, but once everything is squared away, I will be getting back to the blogging roots and focusing solely on putting up reviews. There will still be Interviews/Giveaways, 5 memorable quotes, new additions to my personal harem ;), and loads of other things to look forward to, but I am determined to up the number of reviews I get out weekly.

-Because I never tire of saying it: MORE REVIEWS
-That darn Online Resources post for helpful reader websites (going on 2 months of putting this one off)
-More Coffee Shop Conversations & Book Giveaways (a duh!)
-A few addition to Rita's Harem ;)
-Some more Guilty Pleasures
-More 5 memorable quotes (plus special poet/famous writer editions)
-That update on my TV-Top Bookshelf
-Some more book trailer features and video content
-A little more literary news

...And so much more...

I look forward to the month of September and the boat load of great books I'll get to gush with you guys about!

New Month, New Material: August 2010

Aloha August! (the aloha that means hello, not goodbye) What an exciting first 4 months this has all been! Last month has given me the opportunity to read some great books, chat with some awesome authors, bloggers and readers, and learn that being interrogated is a pretty cool experience. All in all, the month of August has been pretty eventful and I deem it a success!
What better way to start off the month then with a little brain-storming post with a list of stuff I probably won't get around to doing? LOL, it's crazy how busy my day to day is and how side tracked I become. Eventually, the majority of the things listed in the monthly 'New Month, New Material' segments will get accomplished at some point.
I am also given cause to be thankful going into August because I have maintained and gained some fabulous readers/followers! As I am always saying,: THANK YOU, everybody who has been with N.A.R.B from the start and/or kept coming back for more of my random, bookish musings. And also, THANK YOU to all the new followers who have taken a chance on this blog and hopefully haven't been disappointed thus far. And I can't leave out my beloved twitter followers and facebook 'like'ers. A quick newsflash regarding all of that; this month, I have added Goodreads and Pocket After Dark to the line up of Social Networking Sites I have set-up accounts with associated with the blog. All these pages are dedicated to keeping you abreast on everything going on and to reach out and connect with my fellow avid (or occasional) readers.
I start this month off the same way I have all the others: with the intent on making your followship of Not Another Romance Blog worthwhile.

Here's some of what to expect this month:
-Because I never tire of saying it: MORE REVIEWS
-That darn Online Resources post for helpful reader websites
-More Coffee Shop Conversations & Book Giveaways
-Another (a few) addition(s) to Rita's Harem ;)
-Some more Guilty Pleasures
-A fun addition of 5 memorable quotes: 'Shakespeare edition'
-That update on my TV-Top Bookshelf
-Some more book trailer features and video content
-A little more literary news
...And so much more...

I look forward to the month of August and the boat load of great books I'll get to gush with you guys about!

New Month, New Material: July 2010

With the 4th of July already cementing some excitable emotions in all of us, let us take the time to reflect on the following passage by Mark Twain: "Patriotism is the last refuge for scoundrels."... What that has to do with anything: I haven't a clue. But anyway, Jumping Jehoshaphat, its July! I can't believe what a success June has been. Some wonderful books were released, I made some excellent headway in my quest to master this little thing called blogging, and I've finally got the extra free time I wanted to devote to the internet (as if 25 hours a day wasn't enough; yes I meant 25, not 24..bad joke).
June is always a special time of the year for me; whether I am just getting out of school, denying getting any older on my birthday, or saying 'goodbye' and 'how ya doing?' to some new changes in my life. I am glad I get the chance to share some of that change and growth with you guys. June has been such a treat. To all of you who have stuck around and made N.A.R.B a detour in your web browsing, I thank you and just want to say that your loyalty is comforting and appreciated greatly. I want to welcome and thank all the new followers of the blog; and also those of the official twitter and facebook pages. We reached a milestone of 200 'Likes' on facebook the other day, and I am so happy and humbled! I love the comments, the stories, the crazy little anecdotes all of you see fit to share with me; it really makes my day to read a comment about how much you guys relate to me or my random little updates and enjoy what's being posted. July will see some super new exciting additions to the blog and I can't wait to introduce them. I start this month off with the same mission I started the previous one with: Making your followship worthwhile.

Here's some of what to expect this month:
- Because I never get tired of saying it: MORE REVIEWS (some more genre selections; contemporary, YA, MAYBE a paranormal if I find the time.)
-New Segment: Coffee Shop Conversations: Q&A with an Author (premiering July 1st)
-The first giveaway! (July 6th, courtesy of author Jennifer Ashley- will be attached to her Coffee Shop Conversations appearance)
-That online resources for book info I meant to do last month.
-New Blog Segment: Guilty Pleasures (spotlight post on the items and treats that get my motor running)
-More '5 Memorable Quotes'
-Update on my TV-top bookshelf and what I am reading now
-And so much more =)

I look forward to starting a new month with you guys and hope to welcome a few more readers to your ranks!

New Month, New Material- June 2010

It's June!
What does that mean? Rowdy, hormonal, sugar-addicts, also known as your children and teenagers, will be finishing up the school year. Also, the high school seniors in your lives (I count myself in that number) will be saying goodbye to adolescents and facing a new world and new challenges.

Many of you followers of the blog are parents, and obviously, June will be a month of transition and acceptance. The kiddies will need some distraction so that they don't get into TOO much mischief, but you guys will need some distraction as well. Use the summer as a period of restoration.Take a trip to the spa, go camping with loved ones, do something adventurous and life-defining if the desire so compelled you.
During this month, I plan to keep on as I've been keeping on. More reviews and what not, but I also want to get more personal. I want to dive into the Romance Reading world and find out things I haven't been privy too. More randomness is sure to come, but I need your help if I want to make this happen. Send emails and comments and give me some bearings as to what you want to read about. Suggest whatever it is you've wanted to see on this blog, and we'll make it happen.
I want to welcome and thank the new followers of the blog; and also those of the official twitter and facebook pages. The month of May has been as fruitful as ever and I have you to thank for that. I appreciate your support and hope to make your followship worthwhile.

Here's some of what to expect this month:
-This is a given but; MORE REVIEWS
-A look at online resources for info on romance novels (google books, fictiondb, ect)
-The first Series Spotlight here on the blog!! (every Friday this month I will post a review, on for each book from a particular series by the author of the month and my dissection of the series at the end of the month)
- Favorite Quotes Post (5 memorable quotes from the collection of quotes I've accumulated over the coarse of my avid-readership)
-What ever else I can think of without brainfarting.

-Until Next Post<3...

New Month, New Material- May 2010

This is the first change of the calender page for the blog and I couldn't be more excited! The blog was started on April 14th, 2010 and I hope that I can repeat that fact on April 14th, 2011.
Ah, I am getting ahead of myself though. The month of May will prove undeniably fruitful as I work to put up more & more posts and build a stronger community. To all of the new followers of the blog and the official twitter page, I give you my most heartfelt thanks and appreciation. Each new follower, new comment, new email, is the reassurance and validation that keeps me going and logging on everyday.

Here is some of what you should expect this month:
-More reviews (a duh)
-More video content (book trailers, author interviews, ect)
-Upcoming book releases to look out for
- The first 'Author of the Month' feature
-Victorian and Regency mainstream movie reviews (There are some great motion picture adaptations about our favorite era in history; might as well explore that too)
-More additions to the blog ( freebie wallpapers and AIM icons and other graphics)
-The first series spotlight week (week long event focusing on one particular series;including a review of all the books from that series)

-and so much more!
