She wow'd us with the first two books in her Lord of Vice series, and she's coming for our hearts once again in this newest installment. That's right, Alexandra Hawkins is stopping by today for a visit to celebrate her 3rd novel, 'After Dark With A Scoundrel', which was released yesterday, 2/1/11. We are one month into the new year and it's about time we had our first author appearance on the blog; And who better to feature first than the author of the book which I spotlighted as my best read in 2010!? Well, it looks like Hawkins is ready to deliver in 2011 as well with yet another Lord of Vice who falls victim to Cupid's arrow. For those who didn't catch my previous interview with Hawkins last year, you can check it out here; but just to recap, here's a bit about the author:
Author Bio:
"Alexandra Hawkins is an unrepentant Anglophile who discovered romance novels as a teenager and knew that one day she would be writing her own. In "The Lords of Vice" series, she has combined her love of English history, mythology, and romance to create sensual character-driven stories that, she hopes, will touch readers' hearts.
Alexandra lives in Georgia with her husband and three children. You can visit her website at www.alexandrahawkins.com."SourceYou can find Alexandra on the web: Website | Facebook | Twitter | Goodreads

"Young, tender, and highly impressionable, Lady Regan can’t help but be intrigued by her brother’s wayward friends—the wickedly charming Lords of Vice. But when she steals an innocent kiss from Dare, Regan is swiftly packed off to boarding school, safely away from danger…and desire.
Five years later, Regan returns—a proper lady and ravishing beauty. Miss Swann’s Academy for Young Ladies has taught her how to behave in polite society. But all the training in the world cannot extinguish her love for Dare. Now, she hopes to beat the master of seduction at his own game—by daring Dare to love her in return. This time, both of their hearts are on the line…and winner takes all."Source

Rita--I'm honored TILL DAWN WITH THE DEVIL made your Best Read of 2010 list. Thanks for inviting me back to your blog.
ReplyDeleteSuch a great interview! I have found another author to add to my need to be read pile :) Thank you so much!
ReplyDelete@Alexandra, TDWTD was amazing! I can only imagine how much I'll flip for Dare's story! Thanks for coming back!
ReplyDelete@Miranda, glad you like the interview! I am confident that your 'need to be read' pile will be that much cooler for having a AH title in it. I am calling it now: you'll be hooked just like me in no time! Make sure you reach out to me somehow (email, facebook comment, ect) and let me know how you liked the new addition.

Great interview! I can't wait to read this book!!!
ReplyDeleteI've never read any of Alexandra Hawkins books, but I'm going to have to now.
ReplyDeleteAs far as the discussion question - I think pride would be my pick. There's a reason Pride and Prejudice is such a classic!

ReplyDeleteThis book looks so good! I have been waiting for such a long time and can't wait to read it! I loved Till Dawn with the Devil it was super smart and sexy!
ReplyDeleteI think Lust would have to be my favorite sin to read about! I can pretend to be the heroine in a book reforming the hero who has a talent for tthis sin!
Thanks for another great interveiw!

Fun interview! Lust is the sin I like to read about. It is a "staple" in most romance novels. I like to read about a lusty scoundrel falling for an innocent virgin, or even a lusty scoundrel scared by an even lustier lady! ;-)

On many levels, lust is a great vice. I would also put pride in my top three. Many of my characters have been guilty of both.
ReplyDeleteAbbie, the Colin Firth version is one of my personal favorites. I make a point of watching it every year.
I enjoyed this interview and look forward to reading After Dark...
ReplyDeleteAlexandra, you can write about any of the seven deadly sins, it will be worth reading!

Aw, thanks, Mrsshukra!
ReplyDeleteAlexandra - I love your Lords of Vice and I can't wait to read more!
ReplyDeleteHey, Snowi! Thanks for stopping by!
ReplyDeleteAm now over 1/2 through with After Dark and am loving it, just like the first 2 books. Can not wait for more. Lust and pride are my favorite vices to read about, and they so often go together. Can not wait until Frost meets his match and hope that the girl who catches him really drives him CRAZY!
ReplyDeleteI cant believe I haven't heard about these books before....they are now on my 'to get' list, thanks for the great blog post ♥
ReplyDeleteThe series started in February 2010. Three books in twelve months--not too bad!
ReplyDeleteReally enjoyed Till Dawn w/ the Devil and have been looking forward to After Dark since I read the excerpt at the end of it. Love watching those handsome rogues fall for the one they least expect and feel is off limits. It's just so much fun ;)
ReplyDeletePride intrigues me the most. Can you already tell I'm a Pride and Prejudice fan? *Grin* Besides that, in novels, pride always makes for interesting, and sometimes funny, interactions between the hero/heroine.
ReplyDeleteI am thrilled that the Lords of Vice series is going to be completed! I adore all of the Lords stories and I love the way that you develope your characters and can't wait to read Dare's story.
ReplyDeletejeannemiro@yahoo.com
Absolutely love this series...one of my favorites and will definately be a buy on release date book. Can not wait for the rest of the series. Anyone who has not read them yet should do so NOW!!!

Alexandra -
ReplyDeleteA big thank you to St. Martins Press because I love this series.
I'd actually love to see a book with one character having the sin of Lust and the other the sin of Pride. I really think they could temper each other (with a lot of conflict to make the story really interesting).
Your book sounds wonderful and I hope to read it! the cover is beautiful too.
