Reader's Choice Award 2010- Poll is now LIVE! Cast your vote!

 Reader's Choice Award 2010
Ready to make a difference?
(LOL) I can't promise world peace or any of that good stuff, but if you vote in this poll, you'll help elect the Best Book in 2010 as considered by the Readers themselves. I have no say in this selected winner (and went into a tiffy and decided to give out Rita Choice Awards for covers, blurbs, ect, myself). The Reader's control the outcome, and as such, I need every person out there who sees this post and reads romances novels to vote.

Here are the nominees for the Reader's Choice Award 2010

Hopefully one of your favorite reads from 2010 made the nominee cut and you can easily select and submit your vote; But if you know of a title that should have been added (you think this book is the best of the best from historicals this year), please use the "Write-In" section of the form to bring that book to my attention. If a book receives enough "Write-In" nominations, it will receive an honorable mention once the RC is determined.

Criteria I (tried to) follow:
-Released in 2010  (from January 1st, 2010 to December 2nd, 2010)
-Since so many great author's had equally great multiple releases this year, I tried to show preference to the earlier books from that series
-Had to be a Historical Romance
-Either I read it and felt my high opinion matched the readers, or the book was suggested outright by a reader

How To Vote: It's simple. Just fill out this form. You can click the link or use the embedded version in this post below. Please make sure you only vote once or validate your vote once. Just select the title you felt was the best (among the given choices) this year.

Voting ends on December 29th, 2010 @ midnight. The winning book will be showcased on the 30th!

About Validating Your Vote: There is the option to validate your vote by providing your name and email address. This is a way to verify whether a person who enters a giveaway this month and tries to claim extra points (entries) by stating that they voted in the poll, actually did it. All this month there will be different giveaways and I want to reward those reader's who took the time to vote by giving them exclusive extra points towards any giveaways they enter.Your info (name, email, and vote) will never be shared or used in any way other than to a.)Tabulate results and b.)Verify extra points claims.(I won't send you nasty emails stating that your choice was horrible and you're a bad person..lol). The only way to receive exclusive extra points towards a giveaway for voting is by validating. So, if you plan to enter some giveaways this month, make sure to validate when you cast your vote.

c

*I will also randomly select a validated voter to receive a 'Wicked Delights Of A Bridal Bed' Swag Pack (complete with signed cover flat, bookmarks, magnets and commemorative post-its)

-If you cast your vote and then decide later on that you would like to validate it, Do not recast your vote. Just send an email with your name, typed-out email address, date you voted and your selection to: NotAnotherRomanceBlog[AT]gmail[DOT]com

-Be Fair! Only vote once! What good is a win without the work? Any suspicious votes will be deleted and might penalize the nominee. (Authors are vicious! Get them disqualified and they'll kick your ass, so watch out! Lol)

Thanks to everyone in advance for voting and feel free to discuss the nominees and your fav book from the year in the comments below

  1. The whole validating thing is SO undiplomatic! lol. But this is the United States of Romance-erica, we do what we want!

Lol. So many great releases this month, I had such a tough time narrowing the list for you readers to choose from.

Love in the Afternoon was splendid, Haven't read Nine Rules but I hear it's great, MANY people suggested When Harry Met Molly (just finished Dukes to the Left, Prince to the Right.. and thought it was okay. Whew... I could go on and on.. any thoughts?

  2. uggg--so hard to choose just one! Admit, haven't read all of those. However, I have read most of them and enjoyed each one. I've narrowed it down to 2-3, but which would I say is my fave. Hmmm, will need to ponder/debate this for a little before casting my vote.

(Recommend 9 Rules, it was good.)

  3. I guess I need to go with The one I find myself recommending the most at work is Clare Kramer's When Harry Met Molly.....This book is easily the best Historical read and debut this year...It will make you laugh out loud.

  5. @gamistress66, I would struggle finding a fav too. So many great books came out this year!

@Tempty's, Does she go by both Clare and Kieran? You are like the 3rd person to refer to her as Clare instead of the pen name on the book. / I have to get to it soon!

@Scorpio, I loved that book too!! <3 ohh, sigh! The hathaway series is at it's end =(.. but what a way to go!!

  6. This year I can tell your job was not an easy one. There are quite a lot of great Romance stories that needed to be told and the ones you picked are very good, however I am surprised that Joanna Bourne's "Forbidden Rose" didn't make it here and "The Libertine's Kiss" by Judith James. For that matter I think Tiffany Clare's "The Surrender of a Lady" was deserving of a spot. Hands down those three were the best reads this year at least for me. I loved Sarah MacClean’s "Nine Rules...” and Kieran Kramer’s "When Harry...", but if I had to choose which one to vote for it would be a tie from Ms. Bourne and Ms. James. As they were not included, I placed a vote for "Nine Rules...." and Sarah MacClean!

I don't envy your position in nominating these ladies and their stories. I just thought there were a couple of the ones that I mentioned above that deserved at least an honorable mention :) Thanks.....

  7. @ Melanie, It def was a toughie! I actually was contemplating the Johanna Bourne book and Tiffany Clark's! I knew Forbidden made it onto amazon or one of those media outlets' top 5 list. And I recalled hearing some good things about the Tiffany Clare book; but having not read them myself or get any direct recommendations about them from reader's before now, they sort of fell out of my line of vision. (Next year, I'll be sure to open up Nominations to the Reader's as well. Letting the entire thing, nominations and election, be up to you guys. That way, less books like these will fall through the cracks.)

Sucks that I can't read all the books and be one big encyclopedia with all the romance knowledge. I am sure The three you mentioned weren't the only ones I missed; but hopefully they can receive some vindication through a Honorable Mention. / Thanks for sharing and being honest. That's what this is all about. I'll be sure to check those books soon!

    Happy Holidays!

  9. Melanie -- How could I have forgotten Forbidden Rose! Another great book. Glad it wasn't on the list or I may never have been able to make a final choice. :)

Bit the bullet and entered my vote, but it was tough. :)

  10. @Melanie, Hope I'll be around next year! This blogging thing snow-balls, as I am sure you are aware. I am going to hold on as long as I can (Full-time college student with a procrastination problem= "to blog, or not to blog?". Lol. Glad you like mine and I just adore yours. You talk about a little of everything. I was so upset when Brandy went home from DWTS!! And in favor of what: Robot Palin 3000?. And Taming Rafe is on my proverbial x-mas wish list too! (and the abduction of julia)! They both were Rec's of the week a month or two ago! / If you ever need help with your blog (I haven't gotten it all figured out, but I've learned lots along the way) feel free to contact me! (you can email at HistoricalRomanceJunkie[AT]gmail[DOT]com)

@Gamistress66, Thanks for Biting the bullet! Every vote counts. If you didn't use your write-in when you cast your vote, you can opt to do it now in the comment (i'll note it down). Or second Mel's nom for the Honorable Mention. It's obvious I overlooked a good one (Oh, PAH to me!) LOL

  11. I don't like having to vote one or the other! So unfair since all of these books are but fabulous! It took me a long time to decide! So unfair!!

  13. Some great books I wish I could of read them all. Most are in my TBR pile! I'm voting for 9 rules to break! Hands down, Best book all year! Till Dawn with the Devil by Alexandra Hawkins was another fav. Where was that on your list! LOL! Miranda Nevilles the Dangerous Duke was a winner for me but I was dissapointed with a few things at the end. so I could not vote for that one! Love in the Afternoon was awesome as well but it was sorta sad in parts and I like more happy so could not vote for that one either! I did read half of The truth about Lord Stoneville and just could not finish it something turned me off about it. Not sure what but I might pick it back up later and finish it! I just finished Sara Lindsey's Temping the Marquess and Loved it! I will be adding that to my personal fav list! This has been fun!
