Manda Collins
Manda Collins spent her teen years wishing she’d been born a couple of centuries earlier, preferably in the English countryside. Time travel being what it is, she resigned herself to life with electricity and indoor plumbing, and read lots of books. An affinity for books led to a graduate degree in English, followed by another in Librarianship. By day, she works as an academic librarian at a small liberal arts college, where she teaches college students how to navigate the tangled world of academic research. A native of coastal Alabama, Manda lives in the house her mother grew up in with three cats, sometimes a dog, sometimes her sister, and more books than strictly necessary.
How to Dance with a Duke, the first in a trilogy starring three wallflower cousins, is Manda’s debut and has been called “a fast-paced, adventurous love story that will enthrall readers” by RT Book Reviews and “a romance to remember by bestselling author Julie Anne Long.
The Love Letter:
Dear Lucas,
I feel such a coward for turning away from you as I did at your estate. But how can I make you understand the risk to my heart and my dignity that allowing myself to love you would entail?
With the exception of my cousins, everyone I have ever loved has left me. My mother through her death, my father through his travels, and perhaps most significantly in this context, David through his cruelty. How can I possibly trust that this thing between us, this passion, will be enough to prevent you from leaving me too? How could I possibly recover if you, with whom I have shared the very essence of my soul, were to turn away from me? I could not bear it.
I know that this is not what you wish to hear, but I must ask you for patience. If it matters aught to you, please know that I have never felt such a degree of…affection for any man. Even David. Which is, of course why you pose such a danger to me.
I promise you that I will try, for your sake as well as mine, to open my heart to the love you offer.
Your wife,
Cecily
Postscript: Ginger sends his greetings and a heartfelt “mew.”

What’s a wallflower to do when she’s suddenly in need of a husband? Use all the pluck and moxie she can muster to get what she wants…
SHE’S IN NEED OF A PARTNER
Miss Cecily Hurston would much rather explore the antiquities of Egypt than the uncharted territory of marriage. But the rules of her father’s exclusive academic society forbid her entrance unless she weds one of its members. To clear her ailing father’s name of a scandalous rumor, Cecily needs to gain admission into the Egyptian Club—and is willing to marry any old dullard to do it.AND HE HAS ALL THE RIGHT MOVES
Lucas Dalton, Duke of Winterson, is anything but dull. He’s a dashing and decorated war hero determined to help Cecily—even if that means looking the other way when she claims the dance card of Amelia Snow, this season’s most sought-after beauty. But Lucas has a reason for wanting Cecily to join the Egyptian Club: His brother went missing during one of Lord Hurston’s expeditions to Egypt. An alliance with the explorer’s bluestocking daughter could bring Lucas closer to the truth about what happened…or it could lead him to a more dangerous love than either he or Cecily could have imagined….BUY NOW:
