Today, I am super excited to share with you guys an interview I did with a very special author! She's debuting this month with her first book in The Ministry of Marriage series (cute, huh!). She also has amazing taste in movies(you know my love for old black-and-whites!)!
So enjoy and find out more about today's guest:

Christina Brooke
About the Author:
Christina Brooke did not always want to be a writer. After undergoing lifesaving neurosurgery at the age of two, her sole ambition was to become a brain surgeon. Unfortunately, Christina does not like the sight of other people’s blood.
Nowadays, when Christina is not driving her high-perch phaeton in the park or dancing until dawn with her personal Mr. Darcy, she is a manager of household affairs, mother of two and soon to be renovating genius. She maintains her sanity by long walks with her dog and the online purchase of many beautiful purses.

About the Book:

A CONVENIENT MARRIAGEJane, Lady Roxdale, has endured one marriage of convenience decreed by the Ministry of Marriage. AN INCONVENIENT PASSIONDisgraced libertine Constantine Black inherits his cousin Roxdale’s land and title–while Roxdale’s prim widow is left all the wealth. Constantine is not a marrying man, but wedding Jane is the only way to save the estate from ruin. Jane resists the smoldering heat between them, desperate not to fall in love with an unrepentant rake. But for the first time ever, Constantine wants more than seduction. The Interview
RJ: Hey Christina! Thanks so much for stopping by the blog today for some book chat! Congrats on the release of your debut historical romance, ‘Heiress In Love’ (June 28th, 2011 from St. Martin’s Press)! What have the past few months been like with having the book finished and anticipating its release? What have you experienced emotionally as well as professionally with the completion of this new book?
CB: Hi Rita! Thanks so much for having me on your blog and for your congratulations. I’m thrilled that ‘Heiress in Love’ is finally hitting the shelves. I suppose what I’m most looking forward to is sharing the hero of ‘Heiress in Love’ , the deliciously sexy Constantine, Lord Roxdale, with readers. He’s a bad boy with a heart of gold and extremely dangerous to my prim and proper heroine’s peace of mind! And if we’re talking of emotions—I never fail to cry towards the end of this book, even when I’m doing copy edits! So I hope to make readers sob, too. Sadistic, aren’t I?*G*

Guest Post with Karen Erickson

Time for FUN!
Get ready! Karen Erickson is hi-jacking the blog today and telling us about her first historical romance being released by Carina Press! I'am so excited for her book!:
About the Author:
© 2008 Chaos Photography
"I’ve always loved the written word. From being one of the best readers in my kindergarten class to penning romantic stories that never ended about my favorite band members (Duran Duran!) in high school, I always had a feeling I wanted to write. It just took me a while to seriously pursue it.
With the birth of my third child came a realization – it’s one thing to talk about writing a book, another thing entirely to actually do it. So I decided to go for it and in 2005 I began my pursuit in writing toward publication. After completing a few clunkers that should never see the light of day, my first erotic romance novella was published with Cobblestone Press in 2006. I’ve since been published with a handful of other epublishers including Ellora’s Cave and Samhain Publishing. I have recently sold to Loose Id and Carina Press.
On a personal note I’m a native Californian who lives in the foothills below Yosemite with my husband and three children. Oh and the dog, the cats, the rooster and the chickens…"

Are YOU Ready for Romance Lately?

*Happy Dances*
So some of you may have read my New Month, New Materials for this month. In it, I squee-ed in your ear about all the amazing things that are set to take place this month. I also slipped in a little teaser about a secret project I've been working on with two other bloggers.
Well, the time has come! I am happy to announce that the first episode of ROMANCE LATELY is scheduled to go LIVE .... TOMORROW!!! Yep, you read that right! The first ever show will be streaming live to your computer screen at 8:00pm EST!
Wait, do you guys even know what RL is? Well, the about page explains it all:
Romance Lately is an online talk show broadcasted LIVE and hosted by Rita from Not Another Romance Blog, Kati from Romancing Rakes , and Jamie from For The Love of Romance. They are known by a few as 'The Pervy Trinity' and if you watch just a few minuets of one of their shows- you'll know why. Geared specifically towards Book lovers of a romantic persuasion- Romance Lately is a talk show centering around just that-ROMANCE. The host talk about everything under the romance novel sun- Who's coming out with a new book series, which novels are hot this month, which books can't get here fast enough!

Each show will have either a special guest, a special theme, or a combination of the two. Ideally, the goal is to reach any and every lover of romance books- so one show might showcase paranormal romance, another show might focus in on historicals, ect. What's even better is that the show is hosted from the super cool web platform called VOKLE, which is interactive and allows for the audience (that's you!) to participate in the show! Audience members can ask live questions (via web cam) or text questions to the hosts or the show's guest and participate in the chat  which goes on simultaneously throughout the show!

The blog (http://www.romancelately.blogspot.com) will act as the shows website. The shows are called 'events' so the event players (the player connected to the live feed so you can watch/participate in the show) will be embedded in a post a few days before the show is scheduled to take place! Make sure you follow the blog via Google Friend Connect for instant updates to this blog/show. You can also follow the Facebook fan page to stay up to date on the upcoming shows and the latest happenings with the Romance Lately crew!
 Sounds so cool, riiiight?

Well head on over to the blog/webpage http://www.romancelately.blogspot.com and prepare for a VERY entertaining show! Did you know our first guest will be Tiffany Riesz-author of Seven Day Loan? Check out the First Show Preview and make sure you GFC follow and 'like' on facebook so you get the instant updates!

Hope to see you there! <3

Coming Soon: Anticipated Releases for June 2011

June is THE month. Not only is it my birthday month, but it's also going to be chock-full of amazing releases! I am so excited to see Johanna Lindsey gracing the shelves once again with a release that I KNOW will be as magical and romantic as all her earlier releases. We've got some debuting authors, old school vets showing them how it's done, and lovely new-to me's I can't wait to devour. Carina Press continues to put out QUALITY ebooks- one authored by Karen Erickson (who will also stop by the blog for guest post on 6/20) I am jumping up and down for! And Lorraine Heath's upcoming release looks like it'll be dark, original, and fresh. I am in BOOK HEAVEN!

Here are the Anticipated Releases for June 2011!!!

June 1st- She WOW'd the Historical Romance world with her debut book 'The Heir', and if the early reviews are anything to go by- Grace Burrowes is back for an encore performance! Tortured hero's are my favorite- and it looks like Devlin St.Just is as tortured as they come. Can't wait to see how Emmaline soothes his soul and sparks his passions!

Author of the Month: June 2011

Delilah Marvelle
"Delilah Marvelle spent her youth studying various languages, reading voraciously, and playing the pianoforte. She confesses that here ends the extent of her gentle breeding. She was a naughty child who was forever torturing her parents with countless adventures that they did not deem respectable. Confined to her room on many occasions due to these misadventures, she discovered the quill and its amazing power. Soon, to the dismay of her parents, she rather enjoyed being confined to her room and finished writing her first historical romance (which was a heart stopping 800 pages long...) at the age of 14. You can visit her at her website at www.DelilahMarvelle.com or her blog that explores the naughtier side of history at www.DelilahMarvelle.blogspot.com" from author's bio page

Find Delilah online: Website | Blog | Twitter | Facebook

My Thoughts: Delilah is a riot! I love following her on twitter and reading her hilarious (but very factual) blog posts! She's the type of author you can just TELL you're going to enjoy. It seems like she has a literary voice that'll just mesmerize a reader. I can't wait to get to her books (blame Mt.Kill-A-Reader a.k.a my TBR pile for why she has not been read already). But in the meantime, you must tell me what's your favorite book by Delilah! Which of her Scandal series characters do you love the most?

New Month, New Material: June 2011

It's June!
Mega-Squee is in effect!!!
SO besides this month being MY birthday month, there's so much awesomeness going on in the romance reading world, I can hardly contain myself. RWA 11' is going down later this month, and even though it costs a leg and an arm to attend, the Literary Signing (big author signing event) is free and open to the public--it also takes place on my birthday! Which ALSO happens to be the day tons of great releases are scheduled to come out (see this month's list of Anticipated Releases). It'll be AMAZING!
....*bashful face*As you can tell, I haven't exactly gotten the whole 'getting back on track' thing down to a science. This should be the last time any of my staple posts (the new month update posts) should be late. Lots of reviews in the works and the requests just keep on coming. I'll be a very busy girl this summer but it's all worth it.

Author Interview with Elizabeth Boyle

An authors whose backlist I am having a grand time going though- Elizabeth Boyle stops by the blog today to give us some dish on her latest release! It looks like a real romp of a read, doesn't? Spies, espionage, notorious widows? I know what you're thinking- Where do I sign up? Buy links are in the post, but why not get your appetite whet with her excerpt (or by reading the great interview). Also some pearls of wisdom from Elizabeth for author who find them selves at the "should I just give up now?" phase of their careers!:

About the Author:

Elizabeth Boyle is the NY Times bestselling author of thirteen novels and one novella. Her favorites moments as an author include winning the Dell Diamond Debut, the Romance Writers of America RITA award and falling over backward into Puget Sound during a photo shoot. Having successfully hunted software pirates for a living, Elizabeth feels equally qualified to delve into the antics of rakes, spies and privateers in her writing life.

About the Book:

Minerva Sterling swore she'd never marry again. So why is she suddenly engaged to the most notorious rake in London?
A diplomat and a spy, the dashing Lord Langley is happy to be home after years spent abroad, though less so to discover the ladies he so callously loved and left have been anxiously awaiting his return. Hoping to put his checkered past - and his persistent ex-lovers - behind him, he proposes to staid, serious Minerva Sterling . . . and maneuvers her into a compromising position to ensure her assent.
At the brazen rake's mercy - since anything less than a wedding and her reputation is destroyed - Minerva agrees, but only under strict conditions: no more attempted seductions, no kisses or scandalous behavior. But Langley's a man ruled by passion - especially when he realizes how fiercely he burns for his reluctant intended . . . and how willing he is to risk life itself to truly win her heart.

The Interview
RJ: Hello Elizabeth, and welcome to Not Another Romance Blog! I am so excited to have you on! Congrats on your latest release, “Lord Langley is Back In Town’ (The Standon Widows Series-Book 3, Avon,May 31st 2011) I always love to ask an author about the emotions or feelings they get as their release date near, so how did you feel? This isn’t your first ‘go-around’, but has the anticipation become easier to deal with?
EB:
It is always exciting as a release date approaches—and like every author I go through the usual emotions about a story arriving in the stores and more importantly,in the reader’s hands. Will they like it? Better yet, will they love it? Will they get my really warped sense of humor? Hopefully, the answers to all those will be an enthusiastic “Yes!”.
