Author Interview with Tiffany Clare

Today on the blog we have a special author. She hit the scene late last year with her reader-pleaser 'The Surrender of a Lady'. I've learned quite recently that Tiffany Clare is one of those authors you hear a lot about in the blogging circuit and once you get a chance to read her work, you go "Ahhh!" and completely understand why. With her latest, she has drawn inspiration from the iconic 'Jane Eyre'  and the ever romantic 'Beauty and the Beast'  and I can't wait to see how she does it justice. You can catch her all over the web, like when she blogs on the group author blog Vauxhall Vixens, or check out this interview below:

About the Author:

"Deciding that life had far more to offer than a nine to five job, bickering children in the evening and housework of any kind, Tiffany Clare opened up her laptop to rediscover her love of the written word. Tiffany writes historical romances set in the Victorian era for St. Martin’s Press. She lives in Toronto with her ever-patient photographer husband, two mischievous children, a cat that thinks he’s a dog and a dog that thinks she’s human."

Debut Author Interview and Giveaway with Stefanie Sloane

I've had the pleasure of sampling this debut author's first book (review coming soon), and I must say- She's definitely one to look out for! Stefanie Sloane's voice is loud, clear, and mesmerizer as she takes readers on an intense journey and makes us fall in love with the members of the Young Corinthians! Shoot, I want to BE a YC (click here to find out how you can become one!) She has also lead a pretty exciting life herself as the 30th employee at Amazon.com! So much about this author is interesting, so let's jump in, find out more, and meet this debuting dynamo!:

About the Author:

A native Northwesterner with the pale skin to prove it, Stefanie credits her parents’ eclectic reading habits—not to mention their decision to live in the middle of nowhere—for her love of books. A childhood spent lost in the pages of countless novels led Stefanie to college where she majored in English. No one was more surprised than Stefanie when she actually put her degree to use and landed a job in Amazon.com’s Books editorial department. She spent over five years reading for a living before retiring to concentrate on her own stories. Stefanie currently resides with her family in Seattle.

About the Book:

Lord William Randall, the Duke of Clairemont, is a wicked rake with little regard for society—a most unlikely suitor for the prim and proper Lady Lucinda Gray. But his latest assignment for the Young Corinthians, an elite spy organization, involves protecting her from a kidnapping plot and to do this, the notorious “Iron Will” must get close to Lucinda, and convince her that he’s a man worthy of her attention. It is a simple enough task to use his devilish charm to seduce her, but William never would have guessed that he’d become enthralled by the lovely Lady Grey—or that he’d lose his own heart in the bargain.
Beautiful and fiercely intelligent, Lucinda has managed to gracefully sidestep even the most persistent suitors. Until the Duke of Clairemont, that is. His rugged features, sinfully sensuous mouth, and piercing eyes are as alluring as the champion thoroughbred he tantalizingly offers in exchange for the honor of courting her, and she finds it hard to resist either temptation. The feelings he stirs in her both excite and arouse, urging her on despite the very real danger he represents. But when the truth is revealed, will Lucinda risk her heart and her life for a chance at everlasting love?

Second, how does it feel to see my book on the shelves? In a word, AWESOME! I sold The Devil in Disguise in 2008—yes, that 2008. So this day has been a long time coming. So You Want To Be A Young Corinthian?

So You Want To Be A Young Corinthian?

From the desk of Henry Prescott, Viscount Carmichael
Young Corinthian Training: Phase Two
Operative Candidates:
First, let me congratulate you on your recruitment. Very few are found to be worthy of consideration for inclusion in the Young Corinthians. It is a great honor and privilege that, should you succeed in securing, requires complete devotion to country and crown. I trust that you have considered such a commitment with the time and attention it deserves.
You have been required to abide by Corinthian rule during your field training. No less than twelve men failed to progress to this point—and I can guarantee that more will follow after this, the second step toward becoming an agent.
As you no doubt already understand, much is expected of a Corinthian agent. The scenario below is designed to test your ability to quickly assess a situation, extract the relevant information, and make a sound decision. Your task is to read the scenario and the following descriptions of the suspects and post in the comments whom you believe is the traitor. An incorrect answer will mean your expulsion from training and the end of your Young Corinthian career.

Interview & Giveaway with Vanessa Kelly

With book titles like "Sex and the Single Earl", it's no wonder why I am jumping up and down in my computer seat to announce todays special guest! Vanessa Kelly's latest release features a main male character that's not necessarily plucked from the same well-worn path other historical heroes come from . He's not a Lord or Duke, He's a DOCTOR! Imagine a hot Gyno with McDreamy tendencies and you can see what type of a fix this puts our advantageous-marriage-minded heroine in! But without further adieu, let's get to chatting and learning more about my special guest!:

About The Author:

Vanessa Kelly was born and raised in New Jersey, but eventually migrated north to Canada. She holds a Master's Degree in English from Rutgers University, and went on to attend the Ph.D. program in English Literature at the University of Toronto. Alas, she didn't finish her degree, but she did spend many happy hours studying the works of 18th century British authors and writing about the madness of King George III. Vanessa now devotes her time to writing historical romance, and hopes that her readers will find her books as much fun to read as they were to write. She currently lives in Ottawa with her husband. Mired in responsibility, Bathsheba doesn’t have time to convalesce in the country. She should be in London, hunting for a wealthy new lover to pay off her late husband’s vast debts, not dallying with a devastatingly handsome doctor.

Muse Station, Next Stop...Biceps?: Guest Post & Giveaway with Jenn LeBlanc

*Supreme Sex God-Overlord Dance of Joy*!!! We've got a verra special lass stopping by the blog today! I call her Jenneral Hotshots, and once you read her guest post below, you'll agree it's the perfect nickname! We all miss the picture books from our childhoods, but theres no need to get maudlin! Jenn's coming to the rescue with her ILLUSTRATED romance novels! That's right, picture books for us adults! No nude pics (unfortunately), this isn't porn (again, unfortunately), Jenn is a professional photographer, and she brings her artistic skills to the table in more than one medium as she writes a captivating time-travel romance AND takes the pictures to depict the scenes! She brought along her muse to smex up my blog and take us on a visual journey of his tattoos (YES!!!):

Author Bio:
Don't let the dimples fool you,
She is a verra #NaughtyAuthor !
Jenn LeBlanc has several constants in life that define her:
Colorado, Canon, CJ, kids and curls.
Born and raised in a household of other people's children in this beautiful state —very nearly with a camera in hand— she never left. She talked about escaping; but that never happened. She started her own family, got used to the curls, went to college, built a CJ, and started a business, all with a camera in hand.
She always had another passion. Storytelling, born from daydreams and nightmares. Her fingers were not as quick as her mind, and no amount of practice got them there. Then her second daughter was born, and her inherent traits kept Jenn pinned to the spot, her only escape the keyboard. Spending her days in parenting chat rooms, she can still type fast with just one hand.
Jenn lives and thrives off chaos and the constant flow of the creative process. She is currently working on illustrations for another novel.

About the Book:
Francine Larrabee woke up on the wrong side of the century. She was fairly certain she went to sleep in her own comfy bed, but she certainly isn’t there now. Only adding to her problems is that she has no voice; is constantly being glowered at by a large, stunning man who is obsessed with propriety; and she’s betrothed to another horrid man, determined to ruin her and any other girls that get in his way.
How does a self-sufficient businesswoman survive in a time when women were still considered property for the whole of their lives and what is she going to do with this man who draws her to him so fiercely.

The Rake and the Recluse is available on Amazon, Barnes and NobleiBooks and my website: http://illustratedromance.com
*ALL versions of the book are illustrated, though the print version doesn’t have nearly as many images because of cost.

Author Interview + Hit&Run Conclusion: with Sarah MacLean

Happy Dance! The amazing Sarah MacLean is stopping by the blog today to give us some good book chat about her third historical romance and final book in the Love By Numbers Series, "Eleven Scandals To Start To Win A Duke's Heart"! We end the interview with a super cool Hit&Run conclusion. Enjoy! And now, without further adieu, please welcome my special guest:

Sarah MacLean
"As the daughter of a former British spy (yes...that kind of British spy) and a jet-setting Italian who met in Paris and lived, at one point or another, inRome, London, San Francisco, and New York, I feel that I should tell you that I’m a real-life Lara Croft who spends her days haggling in the bazaars of Marrakech, shopping on the Champs-Élysées, riding a motorbike across the Gobi desert, and scaling ancient Mayan temples.
Unfortunately for all of us, however, that would be a gross untruth. My parents settled down in Lincoln, Rhode Islandlong before I was born and left me little choice but to turn to books to find my own romance and adventure.
By high school, thanks to my older (and much wiser) sister, I was thoroughly obsessed with historical fiction. I would become enamored of whole eras and read any- and everything I could get my hands on that related to them. I went through phases—Medieval England, the Vikings, the Italian Renaissance.[...]
My first book, a YA historical romance called The Season, is available in the YA section of your local bookstore. My adult historical romances are on their way...Nine Rules to Break When Romancing a Rake is in bookstores now, and the sequel, Ten Ways to Be Adored When Landing a Lord is coming in October 2010 from Avon/HarperCollins."read full bio on author's site

Sarah's Latest Release:

'Eleven Scandals To Start To Win A Duke's Heart'
Released April 26th, 2010

"She lives for passion

Bold, impulsive, and a magnet for trouble, Juliana Fiori is no simpering English miss. She refuses to play by society’s rules: she speaks her mind, cares nothing for the approval of the ton, and can throw a punch with remarkable accuracy. Her scandalous nature makes her a favorite subject of London’s most practiced gossips…and precisely the kind of woman the Duke of Leighton wants far far away from him.

He swears by reputation.

Scandal is the last thing Simon Pearson has room for in his well-ordered world. The Duke of Disdain is too focused on keeping his title untainted and his secrets unknown. But when he discovers Juliana hiding in his carriage late one evening–risking everything he holds dear–he swears to teach the reckless beauty a lesson in propriety.

She has other plans, however; she wants two weeks to prove
that even an unflappable duke is not above passion."
